Seralvo’s focus on santos rosewood was born during a trip to Bolivia to evaluate a local sawmill, located in the Santa Cruz de la Sierra region, in the immediate vicinity of the forests where the precious wood is harvested.

“After traveling on tiny airplanes and landings on tracks traced in the grass we arrived in a factory built in nothing, among the few that had resisted the passage of a tornado in the area”, Alberto Seralvo recalls. A factory that incredibly managed to do an exemplary job even though it counted only on the open air for drying wood and on recycled and old machines for production “.

“For the night we stopped to sleep in a modest hotel in the small village of Sant’Ignazio. It was then that we discovered we were in a simple and unique environment, with santos rosewood columns, sculpted in a spectacular way ”.

Seralvo has great experience in the palissando santos that today only imports from Bolivia, due to the better quality compared to the similar wood of Brazilian origin. The material produced in Bolivia is seasoned and available from stock in various thicknesses and lengths. Palissandro Santos is one of the 170 wood essences available from Seralvo, both as boards and as veneers.
